Along a heavily driven byway through the rural countryside of Sussex County, New Jersey sits an old cemetery that is only a mere acre or two. Slightly overgrown, it has the feel as if it were forgotten. Fronted with a crumbling stone wall, the Old Clove Cemetery in Wantage, New jersey dates back to the early 1800's. Veterans of the Civil War as well as the Revolutionary War lay to rest here. Sadly, many stones are in despair and have toppled over or deteriated.

Just across the street stands the Historic Dutch reformed church of New Brunswick. The Old Clove Church was granted permission in 1787 to establish a congregation. In 1817 this became the First Presbyterian Church of Wantage, New Jersey.
