The morning rain gently falls upon the Autumn leaves and the pitter-patter sound of the delicate drops emanates along the westbound tracks leading no where. The heavy grey clouds block the rising sun, stifling the bright colors Mother Nature provides and an abandoned NJ Transit Commuter train cars sit motionless on an otherwise out of operation railroad track. Are these cars placed here to rot away into nothing, headed for the scrap yard or possibly kept away from harm as they are going to be restored. My hunch is that they will be chopped up into sections and hauled away to a yard for scrap. Unfortunately I have seen sections of these long trains on trucks headed west on interstate 80 many times in the past. These endless trains served well over 300,000 Commuters back and forth to work countless times a day into Pennsylvania Station New York only to bring them back home again. Let's take a look inside and reminisce those days when men wore three piece suits carrying hard briefcases reading newspapers such as the New York Times, The Post, The Daily News, The Star Ledger, Bergen Times or the Wall Street Journal.
