Here lay to rest are fourteen children who's lives were cut short. The Little Lost Cemetery served an orphanage home, which was an outgrowth of the old Boonton Almshouse that housed 22 children in 1882. The Almshouse is now completely submerged in the Boonton Resrvoir aka: Jersey City Water Works. Though there are only fourteen makers, it is rumored that the other eight children were hurriedly buried here after the Influenza epidemic.
