A wonderful place to hang out and watch small aircraft flying in and out. I remember being a child and passing by the Hanover Airport in awe seeing all the planes lined up in rows on the grassy field. I'd always anticipate one coming for a landing. It would bring enough traffic, that a local Hot Dog Vender would pull up and serve dogs and soft drinks… It was like being at a ball park! What was once a thriving Aviation Airport is now left to ruins with little left. For nearly forty years the Hanover Airpot was in operation, from first touchdown in 1946 to it's last takeoff on 1985.
All that's pretty much in tact is this stainless steel storage unit that's just near what was the main entryway. It doesn't look much different today as it did when I was a kid.
What's left of the Runway looking West
Where the Hanger was located, nothing but demolished cinderblock walls
The Main Terminal all overgrown taken over by Mother Nature
An old car or truck scattered about behind the Storage Unit
Inside the ruined Main Terminal
The remance of what could be a Boston Brand Crank Pencil Sharpener
From Beer and Wine to Medicine and Perfume bottles were placed upon a large table inside the Main Terminal. Looks like someone has deliberately placed them here. My theroy, it was teens who venture back here on a Friday night having a few Spirits to kick off the Weekend.
