Upon finding the American Railway Explorer Grand Canyon Crew Sleeper, I stumbled across the Eastern Northern EMD-FL9 Locomotive that I featured here and on my website last year. It appears vandals got their hands on it and smashed all the windows before the final restoration. This disturbs me and it saddens me to see history destroyed like this.

The 800668 Sequoia Sleeper was built by Pullman as the Union Pacific Double Sleeper cars. Eleven bedrooms and I believe Amtrak had ownership during the early 1970's. At the time the cars had Presidential and Parlor Suites before merging into the American Railway Explorer, Grand Canyon.
