A One of a Kind Open-Air Chapel with huge wilting crosses that was erected to memorialize "The Holy Syriac Martyrs of 1895 - 1918." In the Middle East during the Ottoman Empire years when it was at it's weakest, thousands of Assyrian Christians were relentlessly starved, heinously shot and brutally hacked to death by other ethnic and religious groups.
All the beautifully scriptures engravings in the chapel are written in Arabic that are placed at the base of each wilting cross which are the focal point of this very unique shrine.
MEMORY ETERNALThis chapel of The Holy Syriac Martyrs of 1895 - 1918 was erected tenure of H. H. Mor Ignatius Zakka I, Patriarh of Antioch and Archbishop Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim in the year of our Lord 2000.
IN GRATITUDETo Dr. Bahij and Mrs. Dorris Chaho of the Maximilian E. and Marion O.
