An abandoned train trestle which spans over the Rockaway River in Boonton, New Jersey. Not a far walk off the main road, but can be easily missed if you're not knowing where you are going. Winter months are best to view the magnificence for they're no leaves on the trees to obstruct the trestle.

Chain linked fences with locked gates on both ends of the trestle prevents you from crossing, so don't even think of attempting unless you want to fall or get busted by Police which often patrol the area. I personally met one Police Officer while taking these photographs. He was keeping a close watch on me, so I just let him know that I was only there to shoot some photographs, he was very nice about it.

This photo was taken in the Autumn of 1986 before it was blocked off and I was able to cross over the trestle without difficulty.

Photograph taken with a Pentex K1000 fully Manual Split Focus camera which I still own.

The little remains of what is left of an Armstrong Turntable just adjacent to the trestle. It is believed that the DL&W (Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad) had a small facility to rotate old Steam Engines.

The center plate of the Turntable, presumably where the rotation axis was. Not sure if this particular Turntable was electric with it's Drive Motors on each end or Manual. Very little is left to give clues.
